Mad About Organics started when Sue and Elana decided to breed Sue's prized mare. Elana, having a Master's Degree from Oregon State University in Equine Genetics and her mother Sue, having a background in the medical field, set about a course to eliminate the use of fly sprays filled with chemicals on their horses. Elana and Sue began extensive research into 100% organic essential oils containing no pyrethroids because of their detrimental negative effects they can have on animals.

With much time spent, trial and error and a little luck from the gods, they did it! Elana and Sue developed our successful 100% Organic Fly, Gnat and Mosquito Spray. This made a huge difference in our horses' lives and in our lives as well. We no longer have to chase them down and risk getting hurt trying to put on those wonderful old fly masks. The biggest benefit to our horses is no longer having to put up with biting insects, causing sores and infections with possible diseases.

Once the horse fly spray had been developed we found ourselves turning towards dogs and cats and started developing our own flea and tick formulas. Elana and Sue have done it! Our flea and tick treatment for dogs and cats has been our biggest success story to date. Our mission is to take a different approach to protect animals from insects organically, eliminating the traditional toxic chemical treatments.

Our formula creates a safe and natural scent barrier deterring fleas and ticks. This is a huge change from the traditional treatments that kill the insect once they have already bitten the animal causing irritation and possible death from disease.

Our goal at Mad About Organics is to continue to provide safe, natural and effective animal care products for those who care about the environment as much as they care about their pets.
