Why are insect repellent products so important for your you and your pet?
Mosquitoes, Fleas and Ticks can be more than
just a nuisance
- they can spread harmful diseases like West Nile virus, Lymes, and Heartworm.
The bite of just one infected insect is enough to spread disease, so Animal Humane Society recommends using
preventatives year-round on
your dog or outdoor cat , to protect them against infection.
Let’s face it folks, in Minnesota and other highly insect infested areas, you may need extra protection.
Mad About Organics products are here to help you keep insects at bay in ways that are safe for both you and your pets, when used as directed.
Never use DEET products on your pet, or any
product on your pet that isn’t intended for them. According to the ASPCA, both dogs and cats are sensitive to DEET. Using it could cause neurological problems, such as tremors, seizures, or even death.
When it comes to pesticides there are many different types on the market. Some claim to be safe for your pet, but when you research more into these products like we have you will notice that none of them are going to the levels of safety that Mad About Organics are. When we started our mission of creating a healthy alternative for our pregnant mare, this required us to be very selective of each ingredient. Only choosing ingredients that are safe for a pregnant female was our first requirement and then it came down to the proper dilution levels.
When it come to using essential oils, it is very important for you to know that no other company is formulating to the levels that we feel are the healthiest for our animals.
Understanding not all natural products are safe and the toxicity levels of the ingredients used must be carefully evaluated. We understand that the animals are going to groom themselves, which is why we are diluting our oils into the thousand to million percentile. Shake well before use
(Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight to preserve the essential oils and extend product life)
Spray 12 inches away from body, applying a light coat of spray starting behind the head and working to the tail area, including legs and stomach. For small animals, you may want to spray into your hand and wipe on.
You can repeat this process as often as needed.
If your pet(s) currently have fleas or ticks, we recommend using our Flea and Tick Repellent Shampoo first. This will help kill and get the remaining insects off and after towel drying you may apply our spray to help keep them off and jumping back on.
