ad About Organics'
Insect Repellent
Herbal
Spray is specifically designed to help camouflage the bodies scent from insects like (Fleas, Ticks, Bees, Wasps, Mosquitoes & Ants), keeping them off in the first place. Helps keep your pet(s) and whole family protected for up to 12 hrs. when used as directed. Even though we developed this spray originally for our dog's and cat's, it has turned out to be a very versatile spray that can be used on many animals like rabbits, ferrets, chickens, and we even use it on ourselves. It is great to be able to spray our dogs and ourselves right before we hit the trail, knowing the biting insects will get confused and no longer look at us as a food source and stay off.
We know when you bring your pet for their daily walk, to the dog park or on those great summer camping trips, they need your help. With

Don't take our word for it, just listen to this response:
"My Keeshond got his first batch of fleas. He's 5 years old and I hadn't had a flea on my dogs in over 20 years. I took him to Buddy Dog Wash in Duvall WA. Bathed & groomed him and the owner, Debbie suggested I use your Herbal Insect Topical Spray. We live on acreage so he's running threw lots of greenery. Stuff is great. He is flea free and no reaction to your product. I am spreading the word. I am the President of our local Keeshond Breed Club and active in many dog activities. Will be purchasing more of your products. Thanks for providing your chemical free products."

First off let me say the customer service is over the top with Mad about organics, I am sold on this company. The product smells pleasant, conditions the coat wonderfully and seems to repel all the biting bugs in the yard. In a world of feeding your animals "poison" every month I would much rather repel the nasties and nurture my animals!

Absolutely the best! I use this on my horse and it's the only fly spray that actually works! AND, as an added bonus, it smells good too!! I wish shipping costs weren't so much, but otherwise, great product and highly recommend.

Q:
I used your herbal insect spray on cat tonight. I rubbed it in and wiped her as dry as i could. It was a light spray. She started to lick some of it. Will it make her sick? I didn't see anything on the bottle about this. Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our insect repellent spray. We do try and put as much information on our labels as possible, but it is difficult to get everything on there.
When it comes to our insect line of products, the ingredients we have specifically chosen are very safe and effective. The main ingredients in our spray are water and apple cider vinegar, which are very safe if an animal digests them. Plus, the ingredients we have chosen to use for scent have been diluted into the 100th - million percent making them easy for animals to digest with light grooming.
Since every animal is different, it is always good to monitoring your pet just in case of any allergic reactions.
Hope this helps.

Q:
I am nervous about some of these ingredients. A lot seem to be unsafe for dogs. For a tiny chihuahua, are the amounts safe, and is it okay to be applied a couple times a day? And what if they lick it?

Shannon

A:
Hi Shannon,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us, we understand their can be lots of confusion when it comes to certain ingredients used in pet industry.
First and foremost, my wife has a masters in Animal science and her mother is a retired nurse with years of medical experience. When we developed our entire line of products, all ingredients first had to be safe for a pregnant female or we will not use it. I have not seen another company go to this level of discrimination in the pesticide category.
Also, you will find that all of the essential oils are diluted into the 100th-million percent levels, making them okay for the animals even if they groom themselves. We have not had a negative reaction in the entire time we launched our line back in 2008 and with thousands of sprays made and sold, I can say that means the world to us.
I hope this helps your concern and you become a customer for life. Have a wonderful day.

Q:
I was looking at your spray insect repellents, and it looks like you have 2 different products. I was trying to figure out if your bigger 32oz & gallon sizes for horses/dogs were the same product as this. They both have the same ingredients, just different percentages of each ingredient. I was wondering why that is. So, could the bigger sizes be used on a small chihuahua a couple times a day, like your smaller sizes or it it too strong?
Asked by:
Shannon

A:
When it comes to our insect repellent sprays, the 32oz and Gallon refill size options do use a little more of the essential oils to help repel insects for a longer period of time. Even in our larger size option sprays, our dilution rates are far more than many of the other repellent sprays on the market.
We know that it does not take very much of the oil to get the scent properties that we are looking for and recommend for the safety of the animals to use our spray more often, then to use a lot of the spray at one time.
In all of the years we have been producing our insect repellent spray we have not had a negative reaction with a chihuahua or other dog for that matter, but every animal is different so we always recommend testing a small area on the body to see if there is any reaction.
I hope this helps your decision making and others who may read this.

Q:
Is this product greasy? I have a papillon, with is 1 coat of silky fur. So the spray will reach the skin if I spray it on, but I don’t want to have the spray feel greasy when I pet him.

Carol

A:
Good morning Carol,
Thank you for reaching out us. When it comes to insects and your pets health, we have been perfecting our formula for over 15 years. We feel there is no other product on the market that goes to the safety level that we do. Every ingredient that has been picked must meet our high standards and be safe for an 4 weeks and older including pregnant females. No other company that we are aware of goes to this level of protection. When your dog goes outside to play and enjoy life, we want to do our part to make that an enjoyable experience.
We try and educate our customers as much as possible and recommend holding the bottle about 12 inches away from the body and do a light misting spray action around the body. Think of it like putting on perfume or a body spray. The scent of our spray is designed to camouflage the scent of the animal and confuse the insects, this way the insects leave them alone.
We recommend using a small amount regularly, instead of a lot at one time for a long period of time. This also helps keep the animal from getting too oily right away.
We usually give our dogs baths once a week with our pH balanced shampoo in the intense insect seasons, this help remove any built up oils and dirt that may have collected over the week and start over fresh and new again.
Hope this helps and you will be a customer for many years to come.

Q:
It's good river/reef safe? My kids are going to a summer camp that they asked for all insect repellent and sun screen to be river safe.

A:
That is a great question that we have been asked a few times.
All of us at Mad About Organics focus on creating an extremely safe and natural product line, especially when it comes to our insect repellent line.
Since all the ingredients we use are completely natural and organic there are no worries of them harming rivers or reefs. It does not take much of the essential oils to get the positive results we are aiming for and allows us to dilute them in the thousand to million percent. This is one reason we feel so comfortable when we and our customers use our products out in nature.
It is all about confusing the insects and not having to use harsh chemicals to kill or harm nature.
I hope this helps you and others who have this same question.

Shake well before use
(Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight to preserve the essential oils and extend product life)
Spray 12 inches away from body, applying a light coat of spray starting behind the head and working to the tail area, including legs and stomach. For small animals, you may want to spray into your hand and wipe on.
You can repeat this process as often as needed.
If your pet(s) currently have fleas or ticks, we recommend using our Flea and Tick Repellent Shampoo first. This will help kill and get the remaining insects off and after towel drying you may apply our spray to help keep them off and jumping back on.
