Understanding that many pet owners do not have the time to brush their pet's teeth every day is one of the main reasons we developed
Mad About Organics' Oral Care Powder
for dogs and cats. It is an easy way for pet owners to care for their pet’s teeth and oral health who don’t have the patience or inclination to brush their dog or cat’s teeth regularly. The product comes in a powdered form and is easy to administer daily. Best given at meal time. Our customers have informed us that their dogs and cats prefer the taste compared to other brands on the market and that it has been a game changer.
Mad About Organics' Oral Care
Powder
does not rely on topical application or friction. The product is ingested and works systemically. The natural components in the product blend with the pet's saliva and work to break down the bacterial biofilm that forms on the teeth and gums. Natural bacteria in the mouth can take hold onto the teeth and gums, colonizing and creating oral problems of plaque and tartar, bad breath, and gingivitis. Our Oral Care Powder does not change the pH of the mouth.
Garlic has been an ingredient that has brought up many questions from concerned pet parents. We would like to educate you on the benefits of the organically sourced dried garlic powder we have chosen and hope this relieves some of your concerns. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and won't affect the good bacteria in the gut which are needed for digestion and immune health. Garlic is also known for its anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-parasitic and also helps boost the immune system. Staying away from
high levels
of garlic oil or
garlic powder ha
s been proven to be beneficial without any side effects. Garlic powder helps detoxify and helps to balance the digestion system.
This formula has also been proven to reduce plaque and tartar on the teeth and gums, depending on composition, diet, and how long it has been there. It then works to prevent bad breath, plaque and tartar from returning. Patients generally begin to see results over a 2-8 week period and will see further benefits with continued use.
Healthy teeth and gums are very important for your pets and with proper care and maintenance
, you may save an expensive trip to the vet and possibly your pet's life!

"It's me, Janet Newcombe, manager of Celebrity Pets Holistic Care in White City. I'm writing to you this fine Saturday morning because I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT! I have a 6 1/2 year old Sheltie Collie that has never been to the veterinarian for a dental. Anybody who knows anything about Shelties knows that they, like Poodles, are notorious for "soft" teeth. I worked for a vet that is WELL KNOWN in the tri-state area; and saw the trauma a dog goes through when getting a routine dental. That is what has kept me from having his teeth cleaned. WELL LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I SAW THIS MORNING! I have been diligent for approximately 2 weeks, adding the granules to his food in the a.m. & p.m. His canines look POLISHED & this "effect" continues throughout his ENTIRE MOUTH! I can't believe the difference that 2 WEEKS made! 2 WEEKS! We, at Celebrity Pets carry your whole line of products and are proud to do so. But this is the CRAZIEST thing I have EVER WITNESSED! I WAS COMPELLED TO WRITE AND LET YOU KNOW IMMEDIATELY. So THANK YOU M.A.O. You guys are THE BEST!"
"This is from Stanley and Ollie Monaghan and their happy mom, Hannah. As Shelties, we are prone to plaque and gum disease which makes it harder for our organs to stay healthy. Mom is mad about your products and after grilling Ben tried the skin relief first. We grew hair overnight and the rest was history. Today, after only a few weeks of gnashing on carrots laced with the tasty gel, I, Stanley am plaque free on one of my molars. Mommy just peeled it off with her fingers. Ollie, my big brother and personal bodyguard is not far behind but is taking longer because he gulps his food so he can try to eat mine. We are so happy Mom found you guys. Stick around."

Caution
: Pets having problems with a hyperthyroid gland must be careful with their intake of iodine. Since kelp is naturally high in iodine content, we do not recommend this product for animals undergoing treatment for hyperthyroidism"
For your pet(s) total dental solution, we also recommend the use of Mad About Organics' Oral Care Herbal Gel and our Oral Care Liquid Solution - which is easily administered by one cap full to 8oz of water.

I only write online reviews for the products I love and believe in. Not only is this oral care additive effective at cleaning the teeth and gumline, my Australian Cattle Dog absolutely loves the taste. I love the herbal smell and feel like I am preparing a healthy gourmet meal for my pup. I am a Periodontist and I know the importance of oral health to overall health and well-being.

Fantastic Product
Our rescue came to us two years ago with such bad tarter and such stinky breath (no kisses)! We were able to get the tarter under control thanks to a product that the vet recommended. Stinky/tuna breath was still a problem. We stumbled across this product at a craft show and thought since it was all-natural we would try it. We have been using it for over a year now and Toby can give all the kisses he wants!!!

Q:
This mention it has garlic powder in it. Isn't garlic bad for dogs?
Asked by:
Willow
- 10/20/2021
A:
We understand your concern regarding garlic, this has been a touchy subject that we have had to educate our customers.
When it comes to garlic, there are many forms such as concentrated oil, whole cloves, garlic salt, or dried garlic powder to name a few. All of these have different properties to them and in high enough dosage can cause some discomfort or health issues.
We have done extensive research regarding this subject. We have determined that with the extremely low dosage of the dried garlic powder, this has been very effective without the negative health issues that garlic has a misrepresentation.
For the last few decades, primarily as a result of the onion's reputation for triggering Heinz body hemolytic anemia because of its higher concentration of thiosulphate, garlic has been considered (the onions "kissing cousin") was also said to be toxic.
Garlic simply does not contain the same thiosulphate concentration as the onion does. In fact, it is barely traceable and readily excreted.
"In the testing of onions and garlic on (the dog's) blood cell oxidation, onions have about 15 times the ability of garlic to damage red blood cells," states nutritionist Dr. Dave Summers.
Hope this helped educate you more on the myths of garlic and if there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Q:
About your Oral Care food additive: One of your reviewers said she gives it twice/day. Would I divide the daily dosage in half for twice a day or is your dosage intended for a once/day treatment? Thanks.
Asked by:
Donna Viitanen
- 12/10/2021
A:
Thank you Donna for reaching out to us regarding our Oral Care Food Additive. With this product the dosage on the packaging is describing for a single serving size for the animal each day, but some customers have chosen to double the serving size to help speed up the process.
Even though we only suggest a double dose to be done if desired for the first 2 weeks, some customers have decided to continue this dose size as long as it does not negatively effect the animal.
I hope this helps answer your question, but feel free to give us a call if you have any more questions or comments on how we may improve.

Q:
What is the shelf life of the Oral Care Food Additive? I have had my 6 lb papillon on your product since he was a puppy (thru my holistic vet) and he is now 2 1/2 yrs old and I am only now getting to the bottom of the 4 oz container so wondering if it's better to order the 2 oz version or if 4 oz is OK to get from my vet
Asked by:
Carol
- 2/21/2023
A:
Thank you for reaching out today. When it comes to the oral care powder, if it is stored in a dry environment you should have no problem with purchasing the 4oz size at your vet again. The use by date is 3 years from production.
Hope this helps. :-)

Q:
Hello! I'm a representative of Mud Bay, a pet supply retailer that carries your product. I've recently had a few customer conversations regarding the presence of garlic in your oral care products marketed towards cats and dogs. Most were relieved to learn that as an anti-microbial and prebiotic, the very trace amounts of garlic are safe for consumption as directed. However, one did request an official email regarding the safety of this ingredient. Would you be able to give a statement on the presence of garlic in your products? Thanks!

Michael Goh
- 11/3/2024
A:
Thank you again for reaching out. I apologize for the delay in our response, life has thrown us some curve balls these last few days.
When it comes to garlic, we have reviewed it over the years, and as you dive deeply into the subject like we have you will find that the majority of complaints or health-related issues have been from higher dosage levels of either garlic cloves or the concentrated garlic oil.
What we have found over the last 8-plus years we have been working with garlic, is using a small amount of dried garlic powder has been beneficial in many ways.
Garlic has been used for many years for its health benefits and staying away from the raw form of garlic or its concentrated oil is key when using this ingredient with pets.
